Draft Report on European Baccalaureate 2021
In line with the dispositions of Report 2021-03-D-38-en-2 “Task Force on the ‘Preparation of
the European Baccalaureate 2021’”, foreseeing that “After the end of the EB session, a short,
written communication summarizing the session evolution and the measures taken will be sent
to the Board of Inspectors, the Board of Governors and the TF members, for updated
information.”, the stakeholders were informed that the final marks of the 2021 session of the
European Baccalaureate will not be submitted to a moderation process.

the Baccalaureate session 2021’, approved by the December 2020 Board of Governors
and

REPORT of the TASK FORCE on the ‘Preparation of the European Baccalaureate 2021’,
approved by the April 2021 Board of Governors, endorsed by the President of the European
Baccalaureate 2021 session, Prof. Marie-Danièle CAMPION.
Considering that

▪ all European and European Accredited Schools were able to organize all written
examinations in situ and that no examination was cancelled,
▪ the final marks of the EB 2021 session have been scrutinized and no difference
statistically relevant was observed in comparison to previous regular EB sessions
(2019 and earlier),

following the opinions, in prior consultation, of the Board of Inspectors secondary cycle and of
the TASK FORCE “Preparation of the European Baccalaureate session 2021” Core Group and
Consultative Body, the President of the 2021 EB session, Prof. Marie-Danièle CAMPION
decided to not implement any kind of moderation on the final marks of the EB 2021 session.

As a consequence, the final EB marks 2021 were calculated applying the following formula
agreed by the Board of Governors:

C-Mark 50% (20 % A + 30% B) + W 35% + O 15% as a replication of final A-mark.

• A is the final Class mark
• B is the final Pre-Baccalaureate mark
• C is the Preliminary mark
• W is the final written mark
• O is the final oral mark (replication of the final A-mark, as per decision of the President
of the 2021 EB session, Prof. Marie-Danièle CAMPION, on 15 February 2021).
